According to the most countries' laws, custody of children after a divorce or separation can be awarded to either parent. It is the judge who makes the final decision, analyzing various factors. • The availability of parents for the care of children.
• The proximity of other family members (grandparents, etc.).
• The habits, addictions or disorders that could have one of the spouses.
• The commitment that each parent has had before the rupture.
